1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the website SawmMate (at sawm-mate.truxio.bond), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you disagree with any portion of these terms, you should immediately discontinue using the site.
Please Note Carefully: The prayer times, Suhoor cutoffs (Fajr), and Iftar moments (Maghrib) displayed on SawmMate are calculated using mathematical algorithms based on solar coordinates and zenith angles.
Because atmospheric refraction, local elevation, mountain obstructions, and micro-climates can cause variance of several minutes:
- You are strongly advised to adhere to your local mosque's published schedule and official local Islamic sighting committees for the beginning of Fajr (Suhoor cutoff) and Maghrib (Iftar).
- The commencement and conclusion of the month of Ramadan, as well as Eid al-Fitr, are legally dependent upon authoritative crescent moon sightings (Ru'yat al-Hilal) declared by your regional Islamic authorities. SawmMate's calendar dates are approximate guides and should never supersede official local declarations.
2. Permissible & Prohibited Use
SawmMate is provided solely for personal, non-commercial spiritual utility and educational enrichment. You agree that you will not:
- Use automated scrapers, spiders, or bots to overwhelm or disrupt the infrastructure of the website.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, inject malicious scripts, or tamper with the local storage engines or client-side prayer calculators.
- Mirror or re-publish SawmMate's unique interface, proprietary styling, or branding as your own commercial product without explicit prior written authorization from founder H M Jubair Alam.
- Misrepresent SawmMate as an infallible theological fatwa-issuing body. The platform provides educational summaries and calculations, not personalized judicial verdicts.
3. Calculation Methods & Adjustments
SawmMate incorporates widely recognized international prayer calculation standards, including:
- Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah: Standard across the Arabian Peninsula (Fajr 18.5° / Maghrib 0°).
- Muslim World League (MWL): Recommended in Europe, the Far East, and parts of the Americas (Fajr 18° / Isha 17°).
- Islamic Society of North America (ISNA): Standard across the United States and Canada (Fajr 15° / Isha 15°).
- University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi: Standard throughout Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan (Fajr 18° / Isha 18°).

Users are provided with manual offset controls in the Settings dialog to add or subtract minutes to match their neighborhood masjid precisely. The user bears ultimate responsibility for calibrating offsets to their local adhan.
4. Intellectual Property & Islamic Heritage
The software design, source code, interactive dials, CSS animations, and curated educational guides are copyright Š 2026 by H M Jubair Alam and the Islamic Digital Initiative.
Verses from the Holy Quran, authentic prophetic traditions (Hadith), and classical supplications (Duas) belong to the collective spiritual heritage of the Muslim Ummah (Waqf) and are cited for educational and devotional purposes.
5. Limitation of Liability
SawmMate is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
In no event shall H M Jubair Alam, the Islamic Digital Initiative, contributors, or hosting providers be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or moral damages resulting from:
- Any unintentional mathematical or typographical discrepancy in calculated prayer or fasting times.
- Premature breaking of a fast or delay in fasting due to reliance solely on automated countdown clocks rather than local visual or auditory confirmation of the Adhan.
- Loss of local habit records caused by clearing browser cache, private browsing modes, hardware failure, or browser updates. (Users are urged to use the built-in JSON Backup feature regularly).
6. Third-Party Links & Advertising
SawmMate may present links to third-party websites (such as external Islamic references, Google Ads, or scholarly bodies). We do not control or endorse the content, policies, or practices of any third-party websites and bear no responsibility for their operations.
